This professional recording studio is used to create tracks from scratch, mixing, mastering. MIDI tracks, ready-made samples or audio recordings can be used as source material. There are many virtual environments available in the program that emulate real musical instruments, and it is possible to connect external devices. Cubase is often used by DJs for writing tracks and mixing, as well as during performances.
Interestingly, the developer of the program, the Steinberg company, has twice implemented technologies that are currently widely used in the industry. In 1996, she introduced a digital signal processing method in online VST mode, and two years later participated in the development of ReWire technology.
At the time of the review, three versions of Cubase are offered – Elements, Artist and Pro, differing in the number of available functions and, accordingly, the price of the license.
In the latest 10th version, the MixConsole Snapshots screenshot was added, the implementation of the interface when working on UHD displays was improved, the VariAudio3 signal parameters control tool was updated, the Groove Agent sampler was updated, the algorithms for audio editing tools were improved and some other improvements were implemented.
Multifunctional recording studio that allows you to work with MIDI tracks, raw audio tracks, streaming data. Cubase has a powerful drum machine built in, a tool for processing vocal parts, and it is possible to connect hardware instruments. With the help of the studio, you can record podcasts, edit finished audio segments and create completed musical compositions.

Automatic conversion of MIDI events into audio tracks
Cubase can be considered a truly unique product – the program can be used both to create beats and finished pieces of music.
It's nice that the Cubase developers have taken care of the versatility. Projects created in the studio can be saved in OMF format and then opened using other digital stations.
I downloaded Cubase 5 for the first time – now I am happy to watch the evolution of the program and discover unique "chips" in each new version (so far I have stopped at the 9th release).
"Cube" has always bribed with the fact that it keeps up with the times, and its developers hear the wishes of users. For example, in one of the latest versions, the metronome is already presented as an independent interface, and the necessary adjustment elements have appeared in the popular Tube and Vintage compressor plug-ins.
